Philosophy

The philosophy of our Christian group is one of support to families. CHSG pledges to make every attempt to recommend resources, provide mentoring services and host enrichment activities for parents as well as fellowship and activities for children, parents and whole families. By joining our group, you are committing to the on going process of educating yourself to the best of your ability using the resources available to you for the purpose of developing a cohesive home school philosophy and selecting of curriculum reflecting that choice.

Commitment

As you are considering membership, please know that our hope is for each family to have a rich homeschool experience and sense of connectedness and purpose. For that reason our prioritized membership guidelines are:

That you participate wholeheartedly in our events, activities, parent’s nights out/ support meetings, and utilize our email loop.
That you contribute $12.50 per year for dues.
That you agree to be assigned a job and to execute that job.
In order to participate in group testing, families must be active members of CHSG with a job by October 1.

By virtue of your membership to CHSG, you are also a member of our local community-wide umbrella organization, Charlotte Home Educators Association (CHEA) that publishes quarterly newsletters containing a variety of community-wide activities such as service clubs, testing and conferences. You will have access to our lending library, an extensive homeschool library located in Calvary Church and many resources published in our handbook.

After you submit your application, you will be directed to our Pay CHSG instructions. Here you can pay your fee by check, credit or debit card using PayPal.
